Solar Plant: Volkswagen South Africa

A rooftop solar plant, consisting of roughly 3000 Jinko solar panels and Solaredge inverters, was installed at the Volkswagen South Africa factory in Uitenhage. Delivering 1 MW of solar power, the plant is capable of generating 6000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per day during summer. This represents a substantial saving on electricity costs for VWSA. Installation began in January 2018 and took six weeks to complete.
